Project Objectives
The main objective of the SHiFT project is to achieve power production from superhot conditions to progress the geothermal industry in Europe towards “geothermal everywhere” – geothermal power production independent of location.
Demonstrate different SHG production strategies and power generation (TRL7)
Demonstrate three distinct SHG strategies (superhot flow, reinjection, stimulation-enhanced flow) and connect produced fluids to an operational power plant for power production
Deploy and test advanced well completions and materials
It captures your visitors' attention and helps them quickly understand the value of your product.
Develop and implement framework for monitoring and simulating SHG reservoir response
Organizing and presenting key information effectively increases the likelihood of turning your visitors into customers.
Establish recommendations for SHG utilization and power production across Europe
Organizing and presenting key information effectively increases the likelihood of turning your visitors into customers.
Engage stakeholders through SSH-led innovation
Organizing and presenting key information effectively increases the likelihood of turning your visitors into customers.
Project Impacts
SHiFT will show how SHG can provide a new, dispatchable, and low-carbon baseload power source, contributing to the wider impacts of Destination 3 – Sustainable, secure and competitive energy supply.
Reduced Development Risks
Developers and energy providers gain reduced risks and lower costs in geothermal resource development.
Sustainable Energy Benefits
Citizens access efficient, sustainable electricity, heating, and cooling from diverse geothermal resources.
Enhanced Industry Competitiveness
European industry strengthens leadership, competitiveness, and export potential within the geothermal energy supply chain.
Inclusive Green Innovation
Environmentally sound innovation aligns with societal values, enhancing energy justice and user participation.
